Hello I'm Ivy!
I am the founder of Glam Through It, a brand born from my personal journey as a cancer survivor and my passion for helping others reclaim their confidence. My story is one of resilience, love, and the power of embracing femininity even in life’s most challenging moments.
In July 2018, I experienced one of the most heartbreaking losses of my life when my mother passed away after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Just one month later, I married my incredible husband in a beautiful celebration of love and hope. But nearly a month after our wedding, my world changed yet again when doctors at Indiana University diagnosed me with Stage 2B HER2-positive breast cancer—one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer—at the age of 35.
In addition to my diagnosis, I discovered I carry a genetic mutation in the BRCA gene, which significantly increased my risk for breast and ovarian cancer. Chemotherapy was grueling, breaking my body down from the inside out. I’ll never forget the moment I noticed my hair coming out bit by bit after just one session. It was devastating.
However, my wonderful oncologist, Dr. Tarah Ballinger at Indiana University Health, encouraged me to lean into my femininity throughout my treatment. Her advice stayed with me, and I began to tell people, “I’m GLAM Through It, not just going through it.” That mindset inspired me to embrace my strength and style as I navigated the hardest battle of my life.
On April 23, 2024—marking five years of being cancer-free—I launched Glam Through It to bring glamour and confidence to others facing similar struggles. My luxury medical wig collection was designed with oncology and alopecia clients in mind, providing cooling, natural wigs that feel as good as they look. These wigs are more than just accessories; they’re a symbol of resilience and empowerment.
I’m also proud to collaborate with Christina Ann Hair Boutique, whose expertise and care helped me find the perfect wig during my chemotherapy. Together, we’re committed to offering high-quality, specialized wigs to cancer survivors, alopecia warriors, and burn survivors—because everyone deserves to feel beautiful, no matter the challenges they face.
Glam Through It isn’t just a business; it’s my heartfelt mission to ensure that every individual navigating hair loss can reclaim their sense of self with style, grace, and confidence. My Journey
My cosmetology career began at the age of 16 while I was still in high school. After graduating from Indiana State University with a degree in Business Administration, I entered the corporate world but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit for me.
Determined to follow my passion, I returned to cosmetology school to complete my training and earned my license. I began my career at Tyler Mason Salon Spa—the official salon for the Colts cheerleaders—where I honed my skills as a hairstylist and developed my artistry. After six incredible years, I transitioned to MDG Salons, where I became an independent stylist and focused on my passion for extensions and wig making. The Moores were instrumental in supporting my vision and career transition, for which I’m deeply grateful.
Today, I’m the proud owner of Christina Ann Hair Boutique in the Village of West Clay, Carmel, Indiana. My boutique is a space where I specialize in color, wig making, and extensions while continuing to explore creative opportunities like fashion shows and photo shoots. As a certified professional medical wig specialist, I’m thrilled to collaborate with Glam Through It to help women glam through their treatments with confidence and style.
